The First International Reading of The Aeneid by Virgil will take place on March 24, from 11am to 12 noon Paris time * :
we invite you to join this outstanding event and to celebrate classical literature with thousands of readers from all over the world !
How to participate ?
1/ Set up a group of readers with friends, colleagues, students, library users …
2/ Select excerpts from The Aeneid.
Split the text between the readers : everyone will read in the language of his / her choice.
3/ Register by filling in THIS FORM.
Once registered your group will appear on the interactive map AENEID 2023.
4/ Plan a few rehearsals to practice reading aloud.
5/ On March 24, at 11am Paris time, film yourself with your smartphone and a microphone, ideally in a public space.
First of all, indicate :
– your country
– your city
– the nature (association, library, school, university, museum, group of friends, etc.) and the name of your structure
– the exact place where you perform your reading
– the passages of The Aeneid that will be read
– the languages used by the readers
Then start reading.
Please stop your recording after 15 minutes.
Keep reading until 12 noon … and enjoy that extraordinary cultural sharing !
6/ Send your video at videofelg@gmail.com as soon as possible using WeTransfer
and structure your file name using the following format :
1 COUNTRY 2 CITY 3 NATURE & NAME OF YOUR STRUCTURE
Your video will be posted on the Festival Européen Latin Grec Facebook page from March 26.

Full Reading of The Aeneid broadcast live on Facebook !
In addition to the First International Reading of The Aeneid that will take place on March 24, from 11am to 12 noon Paris time, the Festival organizes a Facebook Live Full Reading of The Aeneid from 4am to 10:30pm Paris time. We invite you to take up the challenge and to help provide more than 18 hours of uninterrumpted reading !
How to participate ?
1/ Set up a group of readers with friends, colleagues, students, library users …
2/ Register by filling in THIS FORM.
This will enable you to choose a timeslot corresponding to one of the 12 books of The Aeneid.
(Please note that the timeslot 11am to 12:45pm Paris time is reserved for registrants of the Rendez-vous de l’Antiquité de Lyon.)
Once registered your group will appear on the interactive map AENEID 2023.
3/ Split the text between the readers : everyone will read in the language of his / her choice.
Plan a few rehearsals to practice reading aloud.
4/ On March 24, log in at the starting time of your timeslot to record live on the Festival Facebook account.
First of all, indicate :
– your country
– your city
– the nature (association, library, school, university, museum, group of friends, etc.) and the name of your structure
– the exact place where you perform your reading
– the book of The Aeneid that will be read
– the languages used by the readers
Then start reading.
When the reading is over publish your live broadcast and structure your file name using the following format :
